User Manual

 E-Strain

This function assists with the examination of breast lesions. It calculates the strain ratio between

the area of the suspected lesion (ROI) and normal breast fat and displays the results.

E-Strain is an optional feature of this product.

E-Strain is supported in countries except the USA and Canada.

The E-Strain button is only activated on the touch screen when the following conditions are

satisﬁed:

− Application: Breast, Thyroid

− Freeze state



E-Strain

1. Press the Freeze button on the control panel and then press the E-Strain button.

2. Specify the position and size of the ROI in the area of suspected lesion.

− Make sure that the fat tissue is visible at the same level as, or above, the ROI.

− Adjust the size of the ROI by using the trackball and the Change button.

3. Press the Set button. The calculation is automatically performed and the results will be

displayed on the screen.

− Target Strain: Mean strain value inside the ROI (Supported in all countries except the USA

and Canada)

− Ref. Strain: Mean strain value of areas considered normal outside the ROI (supported in

all countries except the U.S.A. and Canada).

− Strain Ratio: Ratio of Strain values (Target Strain/Ref. Strain)



E- Strain Reset

When you tap this button on the touch screen, the E-Strain measurements will be reset.
